Besh o droM kommen aus Budapest - aber mit der
herkömmlichen ungarischen Folkmusik, die vor allem von
Streichern und Flöten dominiert wird, hat das achtköpfige
Ensemble wenig zu tun. Ihr Sound ist ein Beispiel für die
vitale kreative Energie, die die gesamte Balkanregion
beherrscht und Ost und West auf faszinierende Weise
fusionieren lässt. Das neue Album
,,GYI!“ wandelt zwar auf den Spuren seiner zwei
Vorgänger, unterscheidet sich aber sehr von Ihnen – es ist
einfach mehr up- to- date. Stimmlich wird es von Agi
Szaloki und Monika Mitsoura (630007) unterstützt.
Vor etwa drei Jahren formierte sich diese junge Band,
inspiriert von Traditionen ungarischer, rumänischer und
Balkan-Roma. Aus der Sprache der Zigeuner kommt auch
ihr Name und bedeutet etwas wie „seinen eigenen Weg
gehen“.

Sväng is a new Finnish Harmonica Quartet founded in
2003. All the founding members have been playing
harmonica professionally for years, but this is the first time
all this talent has been put together. While doing so, it
appeared that 4X1 became much more than the usual
four. A completely new genre was born.
While most of the harmonica bands in the 50's
concentrated into virtuous performance of popular jazz and
classical evergreens, Sväng's repertoire is mostly original
and dedicates to how to bring forward some of the
forgoten and unveiled characteristics of this reed
instrument. Our music is highly captivating with elements
of Balcan rythms, Finnish melancoly and unique
arrangements mixed with joy and high energy in
performance.

The Aegean sea, the Archipelago of Greek Civilization, is
from the ancient times till today a special place of
particular beauty, unbreakably connected with the
development of philosophy and education.
According to the myth, the Aegean owes its name to the
King of Athens, Aegeas, Thiseas' father. Aegeas was
forced to send Thiseas together with other distinguished
youngsters of Athens to Crete, in order to pay homage to
the King of Knossos and as a prey to Minotaurus, the
legendary monster with the human body and the head of a
bull. During the trip, King Aegeas was waiting for the ship
to return, siting in the Sounio' rocks. As they have agreed
before the departure, if the youngsters were returning
alive, the ship would come back with white sails, if not,
with black sails. Thiseas killed Minotaurus and came out of
his den, Labyrinth, by using Ariadne's clue.
