I would like to thank you for your letter of 6 October, and congratulate you on the inclusion

of the combined run, shoot and laser pistol in the 1 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
Both of these novelties which tested successfully were widely noticed.
We look forward to discussing UIPM and LOCOG plans to introduce the combined event
and laser pistol for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Regarding the possibility to introduce the mixed gender relay for the 2016 Games in Rio de
Janeiro, I have taken note of your request. For your information, the decision concerning
the events for 2016 will be taken by the IOC Executive Board in 2013. The process
between the IOC and the IF’s will start shortly before the London Games.
Please rest assured that you’re request has been shared with the Programme
Commission’s Chairman, Mr Carraro.
