1. Preface
As announced in our concertation committees, from 15 February 2016 birth data (birth
date and location) will no longer be mandatory for “Individual” contacts. Those fields will
become optional. This evolution requires a change of our frnic extension. To do so, we
have created a new extension, frnic-1.4, which we describe below.
2. Optional birth data
2.1. Description
The creation of a domain name with a contact of the "Individual" type and, therefore, the
Trade of a domain name with a contact of the "Individual" type will no longer require the
latter’s birth data (birth date and location).
2.2. EPP
2.2.1. New frnic-1.4 TLD.
Location of the TLD: https://www.afnic.fr/medias/frnic-1.4.xsd.xml
All of the contacts created with this new TLD can be holders.The contact Create command
of the "Individual" type may be used in this way to create:

2.2.2. Stoppage of frnic-1.2 / Transition from frnic-1.3 to frnic-1.4
Further to the go-live of the new frnic extension on 15 February 2016:
- WARNING: frnic-1.2 will no longer be accepted by the EPP server either for the login
or in other commands where the extension is necessary, i.e. you can no longer use it at
all
- frnic-1.3 and-1.4 will be the only two extensions accepted by the EPP server
- frnic-1.3 is destined to disappear, so we recommend you to make the transition as soon
as possible. A stop date for using frnic-1.3 will be announced early in 2016.
