Le projet "Je parle donc j'écris" s'adresse à tous les publics en situation d'apprentissage de la
lecture et de l'écriture du français, qu'il s'agisse de pays où la langue française est pratiquée
quotidiennement par l'ensemble de la population ou de pays où elle est enseignée au titre
de langue seconde.
Ce programme d'appropriation de la langue écrite grâce aux Technologies de l'Information et
de la Communication (TIC) vise à concevoir et expérimenter de nouvelles approches
pédagogiques. Les enseignants qui y participent sont formés à l'utilisation de l'outil "alfonic"
(alphabet phonologique mis au point par André Martinet pour le français et expérimenté
avec succès en France depuis plus de trente ans),de même qu'à l'utilisation des TIC.
Ils contribuent ainsi à la création d'un nouvel outil multimédia, à tous les niveaux
d'apprentissage, grâce à des scénarios ludiques et interactifs. Cet outil a le mérite
de favoriser une pratique individualisée facilitant l'expression et la communication, tout en
conduisant l'utilisateur à une plus grande confiance en soi.
Le réalisation de ce projet contribuera efficacement au progrès de l'alphabétisation et
à la lutte contre l'illettrisme.

The Socrates-Minerva European project, "I speak, therefore I write", is of interest to all those
concerned with the process of learning to read and write in French. It is equally relevant in countries
where French is the mother tongue and therefore the day-to-day language of the whole population,
as it is in countries where French is taught as a second language.
In the ethos of designing and trying out new pedagogical approaches, the programme
makes use of the latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the acquisition
of written French. All teachers involved in the project are trained in the use of the "alfonic" tool,
that is, the phonemic alphabet designed specifically for French by André Martinet that has
been tried and tested in French schools for more than 30 years. Moreover, all the teachers are
experienced in handling ICT, enabling them to create a new multimedia tool that can be
easily adapted for all levels of learning thanks to games and exercises that are interactive
and fun. The tool has the merit of allowing students to practice on their own, and helps
build self-confidence as they learn to communicate and express themselves.
Such a project will contribute efficiently to the fight against illiteracy.
