This memorandum of understanding (MOU)
describes a bilateral agreement between CANADIAN
PARENTS FOR FRENCH – P.E.I. AND LA SOCIÉTÉ
SAINT-THOMAS-D’AQUIN. The agreement indicates an
intended common line of action and does not imply a
legal commitment.
Le présent protocole d’entente établit un accord
bilatéral entre CANADIAN PARENTS FOR
FRENCH – Î.-P.-É ET LA SOCIÉTÉ –SAINTTHOMAS-D’AQUIN. Cet accord met en place une
ligne d’actions communes mais ne crée aucun engagement juridique.
Although CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH – P.E.I.
AND LA SOCIÉTÉ SAINT-THOMAS-D’AQUIN have
different mandates, their missions are complementary.
This Memorandum of Understanding will be a means
for these organizations to encourage opportunities for
collaboration and the development of new joint projects.
Ideally, establishing a recognized partnership will
ultimately contribute to mutual respect and appreciation
and will expand the scope of a pluralistic and diversified
Prince Edward Island society.

ont des mandats différents, leurs missions restent

occasions de collaboration et le développement de

La Société Saint-Thomas-d'Aquin (SSTA) is the
organization that represents the Acadian and
Francophone population of PEI. Founded in 1919, the
SSTA is mandated to ensure that all Acadians and
Francophones can live and thrive individually and
collectively in French on PEI.
La Société Saint-Thomas-d'Aquin (SSTA) est
l’organisme porte-parole des Acadiens et Francophones
de l’Î.-P.-É. Fondée en 1919, la SSTA a pour mandat
d’assurer que tout Acadien et Francophone puissent
vivre et s’épanouir individuellement et collectivement en
français à l’Île‐du‐Prince‐Édouard.

The mission of CPF - PEI is to provide educational
opportunities for young Canadians to learn and use the
French language. CPF - PEI embraces English and
French as Canada’s two official languages as an
opportunity to promote mutual respect among all
Canadians, and further champions young Canadians’
opportunities to become bilingual in these languages.

communication between interested parents and

It is hereby agreed that this partnership agreement will
be in effect upon the signing of this document and will
remain in effect until one or the other partner requests
that it cease.
