RegimentinWindsor,Ontarioonthe3rdofJuly1973.HecompletedhisGeneral
MilitaryTraining(GMT),InfantrymanTradeQualification(TQ)1,JuniorNonCommissionedLeaderQualification,andAdministrationClerkTQ1.
3. In1974,hewaspromotedtoCorporalandappointedBattalionOrderlyRoomChief
ClerkandremusteredtoAdministrativeClerkthusstartinghiscareerinLogistics.
4. In1976,MajorStielerwassenttoMontreal,QuebeconclassBtoworkforOperation
COJO’76(CommitteeforthedayoftheOlympics1976);firstasaSecurityTeam
supervisoratEcoleGeorges-VanierandthenhebecametheChiefClerkforoneofthe
localschools(CégepÉdouard-Montpetit)convertedintoquartersformilitary
personnel.
5. WhileinMontreal,MajorStielermethisfuturewifeanddecidedtostaythereatthe
endoftheOlympics.HetransferredtoHeadquartersQuebecNo1Districtandtooka
classBcalloutatForceMobileCommand(FMC)HQ.
6. September1977,MajorStielerdecidedtomovebacktoWindsor,Ontarioand
transferredto21(Windsor)ServiceBattalion.
7. MajorStielerworkedhiswaythroughtheranksholdingvariouspositionsintheunit
culminatingwithbeingpromotedtoChiefWarrantOfficerandappointedto
RegimentalSergeant-Major.
8. 1996MajorStielerwasCommissionedfromtheRankstoCaptain.
9. Asanofficer,MajorStielerheldmanypositionsin21(Windsor)ServiceBattalion
endingwithDeputyCommandingOfficer.TheBattalionwasamalgamatedinto31
ServiceBattalionandMajorStielerwasappointedOfficerCommandingWindsor
CombatServiceSupportCompany.
10. 2013-present,MajorStielerhashadthegoodfortuneofservingastheG4/G6forthe
ArmyMilitaryPoliceGrouponaclassBopportunityinOttawa,ON.
11. Larrywouldliketothankallthoseesteemedcolleaguesandprofessionalsthathave
helpshapehiscareerandthewonderfulexperienceithasbeen.Heisalsoenormously
thankfulfortheincalculablesupportreceivedfromhiswifeDebbieandhisfamily;
withoutwhichhecouldnothaveexperiencedthemanyopportunitiespresentedto
himthroughouthiscareer.

andtakingtheopportunitytospendmoretimecampingwithhiswifeintheir5th
Wheeltrailer.

entamantainsisacarrièreenlogistique.
4. En1976,lemajorStieleraétéaffectéàMontréal,auQuébec,enservicedeclasseB
afindeparticiperàl’opérationCOJO1976(comitépourlesJeuxolympiquesde1976).Il
aexercélesfonctionsdesuperviseurdel’équipedesécuritéàl’ÉcoleGeorges-Vanier,
puisdecommis‑chefd’uneécolelocale(CégepÉdouard-Montpetit)convertieen
logementpourlepersonnelmilitaire.
5. AucoursdesonaffectationàMontréal,lemajorStielerarencontrésafutureépouseet
adécidéd’ydemeureraprèslesJeuxolympiques.IlaétémutéauQuartiergénéraldu
districtno1duQuébecetaacceptéunemploienservicedeclasseBauQGdu
CommandementdelaForceterrestre(CFT).
6. Enseptembre1977,lemajorStieleradécidéderetourneràWindsor,enOntario,eta
étéaffectéau21eBataillondesservices(Windsor).
7. LemajorStieleragravileséchelonsetaoccupédiverspostesauseindel’unitéjusqu’à
cequ’ilsoitpromuaugraded’adjudant-chefetnommésergent-majorrégimentaire.
8. En1996,lemajorStieleraétécommissionnédurangetestdevenucapitaine.
9. Entantqu’officier,lemajorStieleraoccupédenombreuxpostesauseindu21e
Bataillondesservices(Windsor),notammentceluidecommandantadjoint.Lebataillon
