Geschichte Freisings
Der Domberg, auf dem sich die beiden
romanischen Türme des Freisinger
Domes mächtig erheben, war für
viele Jahrhunderte ein geistig-geistliches Zentrum Altbayerns. Hier
wirkten viele berühmte Gelehrte. Der
Geschichtsschreiber Otto von Freising war als Bischof einer der Nachfolger des Hl. Korbinian. Ihre
Residenzstadt und den Domberg
bauten die Freisinger Fürstbischöfe
zu einem mit Prachtbauten und
Kunstwerken ausgestatteten Regierungssitz aus. Heute ist Freising Universitätsstadt und auch aufgrund
der Nähe zum Flughafen München
nimmt die Stadt eine wichtige wirtschaftliche Funktion ein. Eine lebendige kulturelle Szene und die überall
zu spürende altbayerische Gemütlichkeit in der Stadt und ihren Gaststuben tragen dazu bei, Freising zu
einem weitum geschätzten Treffpunkt für Genießer zu machen.

Historique de Freising
La colline, sur laquelle s’élèvent les
deux imposantes tours romanes de la
cathédrale de Freising et à laquelle
elle doit son nom, resta de nombreux
siècles durant le centre intellectuel
et spirituel de la Bavière ancienne.
Ici intervenaient de nombreux savants célèbres. L’historiographe Otto
de Freising fut, en tant qu’évêque,
l’un des successeurs de saint Corbinian. Les princes évêques de Freising
embellirent leur ville de résidence et
la colline de la cathédrale, pourvoyant de magnifiques édifices et de
chefs-d’œuvre artistiques le siège de
leur pouvoir. Aujourd’hui, Freising est
une ville universitaire, et grâce à la
proximité de l’aéroport de Munich,
elle occupe une importante position
économique. Grâce à une scène culturelle vivante et à la convivialité
traditionnelle qui se ressent dans la
ville et ses auberges, Freising est un
lieu de rencontres largement apprécié des épicuriens.

La colonne mariale baroque (1674)
forme le point d’attraction de la
place Marienplatz, le centre animé
de la ville et point de départ de
toutes les promenades de la vieille
ville.

L’édifice, en style néoclassique du
début du XXe siècle, s’intègre parfaitement à l’ensemble des maison qui
bordent la Marienplatz.

Une impressionnante tour baroque
(1681-1689) se dresse au-dessus de
l’église-halle de la fin du gothique.
Dans son ombre, de pittoresques
ruelles tortueuses abritent des maisons historiques.

I vescovi-principi di Freising trasformarono la loro città-residenza e la
collina del duomo in una sede governativa ricca di sfarzosi edifici e opere
d’arte. Oggi, Freising è città universitaria e, grazie alla vicinanza dell’aeroporto di Monaco di Baviera, riveste
anche una funzione economica significativa. Un ambiente culturale
vivace e l’affabilità tipica della Baviera antica che si respira ovunque in
città e nei suoi locali contribuiscono
a fare di Freising un punto d’incontro
per edonisti apprezzato anche dai
forestieri.

La Colonna Mariana barocca (1674)
è il punto centrale della Marienplatz,
l’indaffarato centro cittadino e
punto di partenza di tutte le passeggiate nella città vecchia.
L’ancienne maison bourgeoise
(construite en 1730) avec sa superbe
façade rococo témoigne de la prospérité de la bourgeoisie d’une ville
au XVIIIe siècle. Aujourd’hui, elle héberge l’état civil de la ville de Freising.

❺ Edificio Asam (ex-Liceo principesco-vescovile)
L’edificio fu costruito nel 1697. L’exaula magna è stata decorata con
affreschi barocchi da Georg Asam,
il padre dei famosi fratelli Cosmas
Damian Asam ed Egid Quirin Asam.
Oggi, questa sala viene utilizzata
per rappresentazioni teatrali, eventi
musicali e convegni. Qui è ospitato
anche lo Stadtmuseum (museo civico) con una suggestiva mostra
sulla storia movimentata della città
del vescovo-principe e, successivamente, del capoluogo bavarese. Qui
trovate anche il Ufficio del Turismo
della città di Freising.
❻ Torre Bürgerturm
Uno degli ultimi resti della fortificazione storica della città.
❼ Collina del duomo
La collina del duomo è un’area in cui
si concentrano arte e opere d’arte di
tutte le epoche, peraltro non raccolte solamente dai vescovi-principi.
Sopra la città borghese c’è stata, per
secoli, una vera roccaforte della sapienza.

Una delle grandi attrazioni turistiche della Baviera. Il duomo romanico
con la sua cripta a sala e la Colonna
delle Bestie è stata barocchizzata nel
XVIII secolo dai fratelli Asam e dotata di numerose opere d’arte.
❾ Vescovo Otto di Freising
Nel punto in cui si trovava la fontana dei Mori fu eretto nel 1857, da
Caspar von Zumbusch, il monumento
al più importante filosofo della storia
del Medioevo.

Il passato spirituale di un tempo è
testimoniato, tra l’altro, dalla fontanella di San Corbiniano e dalle rovine
del monastero benedettino. Oggi,
sulla collina di Weihenstephan (campus) si trovano i moderni edifici del
Politecnico di Monaco-Weihenstephan, dell'ateneo di WeihenstephanTriesdorf nonché altri istituti, scuole

Das Muss für jeden Freising-Besucher.
Neben dem Dom mit seiner
berühmten Hallenkrypta und seinen
Kunstschätzen gibt es hier das
Diözesanmuseum, mit der größten
kirchlichen Kunstsammlung Deutschlands.
Das Gebäude mit seinem markanten
Tonnendach wurde im frühen 19.
Jahrhundert für die Unterbringung
der königlichen Merinoschafe errichtet. Heute ist das europäische Künstlerhaus des Bezirks Oberbayern darin
untergebracht. Sein umfangreiches
Veranstaltungsprogramm zieht
Künstler und Gäste aus vielen Regionen an.
❸ In der Altstadt
Der barocke Asamsaal in der ehemaligen bischöflichen Hochschule,
die gotische Pfarrkirche St. Georg,
das Rathaus im späthistorischen
Stil und viele alte Bürgerhäuser mit
ihren schönen Fassaden bilden die
Kulisse für einen lohnenswerten Altstadtbummel.
❹ Im Oberdieck-Garten
Der Oberdieckgarten ist eine Versuchs- und Demonstrationsanlage
der Forschungsanstalt für Gartenbau.
Gartenfreunde finden hier Duft- und
Arzneipflanzen sowie viele interessante Neuzüchtungen.
❺ Auf der Kuppe des
Weihenstephaner Berges
An die ursprüngliche Benediktinerabtei erinnern unter anderem das barocke Gartensalettl und die Ruine der
Korbinianskapelle mit dem
Korbiniansbrünnlein. Die Brauerei
Weihenstephan, die älteste Brauerei
der Welt, lockt Spaziergänger zur
Brotzeit unter Kastanien.
❿ An der Plantage
Früher eine Waldbaumschule, deren
Reste noch erkennbar sind, hat sich
hier mittlerweile eine idyllische Gastwirtschaft mit Biergarten
etabliert. Von der aus man den
Walderlebnispfad mit seinen vielen
Attraktionen begehen kann.
⓫ An der Wallfahrtskirche Wies
In der Wallfahrtskirche "Zum Gegeißelten Heiland" zeugen viele
Votivgaben und Bilder von der einstigen Bedeutung dieser Wallfahrt
vor den Toren der Stadt.
⓬ In Neustift
Die Kirche der ehemaligen Prämonstratenserabtei Neustift wurde von
den berühmtesten Künstlern des
bayerischen Rokoko ausgestattet.
Johann Baptist Zimmermann etwa
schuf die Deckenfresken, die Altarfiguren stammen von Ignaz Günther.
In den Gebäuden des Klosters selbst
ist heute das Landratsamt untergebracht.

Der Freisinger Rosenweg
Ein Rosenspaziergang durch die Altstadt
"Die Rose prägt seit Jahren das
Stadtbild von Freising", heißt es anerkennend in der Urkunde, die Freising vor beinahe 10 Jahren zur
"Rosenstadt" kürte. Eine Reihe spezieller Strauch-, Beet- und Edelrosen,
die nach Freising benannt wurden,
zeugen von der Aufmerksamkeit,
die Freising und seine Bürger diesem
edlen Gewächs widmen. Ein eigener
Rosenweg führt durch die romantischen Gassen der Altstadt und zeigt
Freising einmal von einer ganz anderen, blühenden Seite:
Vom „Bärenbrunnen" an der Kammergasse ❶ begleiten attraktive
Kletterrosen im Mittleren Graben
(mit Amtsgerichtsgarten) ❷ zu
Kirchgasse/Rindermarkt, wo von
Rosen gesäumte Bänke im Schatten
der Stadtpfarrkirche St. Georg zum
Verweilen einladen.
Über Ziegelgasse, Haupt- und Bahnhofstraße führt der Weg am „Arpajongarten" und den Beetpflanzungen
vor dem „Vinzentinum" vorbei zum
idyllischen Rosengarten am Fürstendamm ❸.
Er folgt dem Fürstendamm am Mohrenbrunnen vorbei Richtung Ottostraße und führt zu einer weiteren
schönen Rosenpflanzung an der
Büste von Fürstbischof Joseph Konrad
Freiherr von Schroffenberg ❹.
Der Altstadtspaziergang endet dann
an einem mit Rosenmotiven gestalteten Bären inmitten farbenfroher
Rosenpflanzungen am Bahnhofsvorplatz ❺.

We invite you to explore our city on
a walking or cycle tour. The 13.5kilometre route is equally suitable
for both methods. Discover a city
that has been a centre of culture and
science for centuries, but is also
known as a city of horticulture and
roses.
In addition, the Freising Tree Walk,
which opened along the route in
2010, points out twenty-three types
of trees, some of which are rare.
❶ Railway Station
Our tour of the city starts at the railway station, only a few steps away
from the old quarter. Its bustling atmosphere demonstrates that Freising
today is a flourishing centre of commerce and research.
❷ Cathedral Hill
This assembly of fascinating sights
is a must for any visitor to Freising;
from the Cathedral itself with its
famous crypt to the Diocesan Museum, Germany's largest collection
of religious art.
❸ The Old Quarter
The glorious Baroque Asamsaal hall
of the former Episcopal College, the
Gothic church of St. George, the historicist-style Town Hall and many
old townhouses with beautiful
facades set the scene for a rewarding stroll through the Old Quarter.
❺ On Weihenstephan Hill
Relics of the original Benedictine
abbey include a Baroque garden
pavilion or "Salettl" and the ruins of
St. Corbinian's Chapel with St. Corbinian's Spring. Weihenstephan Brewery, the oldest in the world, offers an
attractive chestnut-shaded spot for
hikers to take a break.
❻ At Weihenstephan Campus
The expansive campus of Weihenstephan's teaching and research
centre is dotted with modern
sculptures that create a fascinating
sculpture park between lecture halls,
academic institutes and library.
The artists range from Alf Lechner
to Fritz König and Leo Kornbrust.
❼ The Show Gardens
The shrubbery show gardens of Weihenstephan University are primarily
used for plant evaluation. Open to
the public, they are a magnet for
garden enthusiasts, presenting a vast
array of different species and variety
of forms in a blaze of colour.

⓫ Wies Pilgrimage Church
Here visitors can observe and compare over 60 different types of trees
and shrubs.
In the Church of the Scourged
Saviour, a host of votive offerings
and images bear witness to the
former stature of this pilgrimage
destination at the gates of Freising.
❾ Schafhof
The building, with its striking curved
roof, was built in the early 19th century to house the royal herd of merino sheep. Today it is home to Upper
Bavaria's European Artists' Centre
and offers an extensive programme
of events that attract artists and visitors from far and wide.
❿ At the Plantation
Once a forest tree nursery, the remnants of which can still be seen, the
site now houses an idyllic inn with
beer garden, a starting-point for
the Forest Nature Trail and its many
attractions.
⓬ Neustift
The church of the former Premonstratensian Abbey of Neustift was
created by the most important
artists of the Bavarian rococo movement: Johann Baptist Zimmermann
painted the ceiling frescoes, while
the altar figures are by Ignaz Günther.
The monastery premises now house
the rural district office.
⓫ L’église de pèlerinage Wies
Le bâtiment, avec son toit en carène
frappant, a été édifié au début du
XIXe siècle pour abriter les moutons
mérinos royaux. Aujourd’hui, c’est la
Maison européenne des
Artistes du district de la Haute-Bavière qui y est établie. Son important
programme de manifestations culturelles attire les artistes et les visiteurs
de nombreuses régions.
Un grand nombre d’offrandes et d’exvotos témoignent de l’importance
que revêtait jadis le pèlerinage dans
cette église « Au Sauveur flagellé »,
située aux portes de la ville.
❿ À la pépinière
Ancienne école forestière, dont les
vestiges sont encore visibles, c’est
entre-temps devenu une auberge
idyllique avec un Biergarten, une
brasserie en plein air. De là, on peut
rejoindre le parcours aventure en
forêt avec ses nombreuses attractions.
⓬ Quartier de Neustift
L’église de l’ancienne abbaye des Prémontrés de Neustift a été décorée
par les plus célèbres artistes bavarois
de l’époque rococo. Johann Baptist
Zimmermann, par exemple, a peint
les fresques du plafond, tandis que
les statues du maître-autel sont dues
à Ignaz Günther. Les bâtiments du
monastère abritent aujourd’hui la
sous-préfecture.
Le chemin des roses de Freising
Une promenade ponctuée de roses à travers la vieille ville
markt, où des bancs entourés de
roses invitent à vous attarder à l’ombre de l’église paroissiale St. Georg.
Empruntant la ruelle Ziegelgasse, la
grand-rue et celle de la gare, le circuit mène le long du jardin d’Arpajon
et des parterres devant le Vinzentinum, jusqu’à la roseraie idyllique du
Fürstendamm ❸.
Puis, longeant le Fürstendamm, il
passe devant la fontaine MohrenUn « chemin des roses » mène à trabrunnen, en direction de la rue Ottovers les ruelles romantiques de la vie- straße et conduit à un autre

à vélo, venez découvrir notre ville en
empruntant le circuit de 13,5 km !
Grâce à lui, la ville vous dévoilera
non seulement son visage de centre
culturel et scientifique séculaire,
mais également celui qui lui a fait
mériter son nom de ville des jardins
et des roses.
Inauguré depuis 2010 sur ce parcours,
le sentier arboricole (Freisinger
Baumweg) comporte vingt-trois essences, en partie rares.

seulement de la vieille ville. La vie

The certificate which conferred the
title of "Rose City" on Freising almost
ten years ago states approvingly that
"roses have been a prominent feature
in Freising for years". Many special
varieties of bush, carpet and hybrid
tea rose have been named after Freising, documenting the special status
of these elegant blooms for the city
and its inhabitants. A "rose walk"
leads through the romantic lanes of
the Old Quarter and presents Freising
from a new side of blooms and blossoms.

L’edificio con il suo rimarchevole
tetto a botte venne costruito ai primi
del XIX secolo per accogliere le pecore merino dell’allevamento reale.
Oggi ospita la Casa europea degli
Artisti del distretto governativo
dell’Alta Baviera. Il suo ampio calendario di eventi attira artisti e ospiti
vicini e lontani.

L’ampia area del Centro Didattico e di
Ricerca di Weihenstephan è impreziosito da moderne sculture che, tra
aule universitarie, istituti e biblioteche, danno vita ad un interessante
parco scultoreo in cui sono rappresentati da Alf Lechner a Fritz König e
Leo Kornbrust.
Ex-vivaio di piante all’interno di un
bosco, le cui tracce sono ancora visibili, è diventato, nel frattempo, una
idilliaca trattoria con birreria all’
aperto. Da qui si può iniziare il sentiero-avventura nel bosco con le sue
numerose attrazioni.

serve soprattutto alla valutazione

Vi invitiamo a scoprire la nostra città.
Con una passeggiata a piedi o in bicicletta. Il percorso circolare di 13,5
chilometri si presta perfettamente ad
entrambe le possibilità.
Esso presenta una città che da secoli,
oltre ad essere un centro di cultura e
scienza, si è fatta un nome anche
come città-giardino e delle rose.
Inoltre, nel 2010 è stato inaugurato,
su questo tratto, il percorso degli alberi di Freising - con ventitré tipi di
piante in parte rare.
❶ Alla stazione
Il percorso attraverso la città inizia
alla stazione ferroviaria, distante appena pochi passi dalla città vecchia.
La vita vivace che qui si incontra
rivela che Freising, oggi, è un florido
centro di attività economiche e ricerca scientifica.
❷ Sulla collina del duomo
La tappa obbligata per ciascun visitatore di Freising. Oltre al duomo con la
sua famosa cripta a sala e i suoi tesori d'arte c'è anche il Museo Diocesano, la più grande raccolta di arte
sacra in Germania.
❸ Nella città vecchia
La sala barocca Asam nell’ex-università vescovile, la chiesa parrocchiale
gotica di San Giorgio, il municipio in
stile tardo-gotico e numerose antiche
case borghesi con le loro belle facciate costituiscono lo scenario di un
giro a piedi per la città vecchia da
non perdere.
❹ Nel Giardino di Oberdieck
Il Giardino di Oberdieck è una struttura sperimentale e dimostrativa
dell’Istituto di Ricerca di Giardinaggio.
Gli amanti del giardinaggio trovano
qui piante profumate e medicinali
nonché numerose nuove coltivazioni
interessanti.
Il percorso delle rose di Freising
Una passeggiata tra le rose nella città
vecchia
“La rosa è, da anni, elemento caratteristico della fisionomia urbana di
Freising”, si legge, con toni di riconoscimento, nell'atto che, quasi 10
anni fa, eleggeva Freising a “città
delle rose”. Tutta una serie di rose a
cespuglio, da aiuola e ibridi di tea,
nella cui definizione compare il nome
di Freising, dimostrano la grande attenzione che Freising e i suoi cittadini dedicano a queste nobili piante.
Un percorso dedicato alle rose si
snoda per le romantiche stradine
della città vecchia e presenta Freising
da una prospettiva del tutto nuova e
“florida”.
Partendo dalla “Fontana dell’Orso“
nella Kammergasse ❶, accattivanti
rose rampicanti nel Mittlerer Graben
(con il giardino della Pretura) ❷
fanno compagnia al visitatore fino
alla Kirchgasse e al Rindermarkt,
dove panchine incorniciate da rose
invitano a soffermarsi all’ombra della
chiesa parrocchiale di San Giorgio.
Attraverso la Ziegelgasse, la Hauptstrasse e la Bahnhofstraße, il percorso supera il giardino “Arpajongarten” e diverse aiuole di fiori davanti
al “Vinzentinum” per arrivare all’idilliaco roseto sul Fürstendamm ❸.
Seguendo il Fürstendamm si supera
la fontana dei Mori in direzione della
Ottostraße per arrivare ad un altro
rosaio a ridosso del busto dell’arcivescovo-principe Joseph Konrad barone von Schroffenberg ❹.
La passeggiata della città vecchia
termina con un orso stilizzato con
disegni di rose in mezzo ad una serie
di variopinti cespugli di rose sulla
piazza antistante le stazione ferroviaria ❺.
