wiring and electrical parts may be damaged
when drilling for installation of LED retrofit kit.
Check for enclosed wiring and components.

Kit installation requires knowledge of luminaires
electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt
installation. Contact a qualified electrician.

in the luminaires that have the construction features and
dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings.
Only those open holes indicated in the photographs
and/or drawings may be made or altered as a result of
kit installation. Do not leave any other open holes in
an enclosure of wiring or electrical components.
WARNING - To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not
expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
WARNING - This product is sensitive to Electrical
Static Discharge (ESD). Care should be taken to avoid
direct contact with the LEDs. Installers should be
grounded using a wrist strap or other suitable method
of grounding. Failure to ground the installer may cause
pre-mature failures and void the fixture warranty.
Fixture is suitable for damp locations.
THE RETROFIT KIT IS ACCEPTED AS A COMPONENT
OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE SUITABILITY OF THE
COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY CSA
OR AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.

à la terre le programme d'installation peut provoquer des
défaillances prématurées et annuler la garantie du luminaire.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. To avoid the possibility of electric shock, turn off power.
2. Open the troffer and remove existing lamps, lamp mounts,
ballasts / drivers, interconnection components, etc. (Fig. 1)

3. Using the #8 self-drilling sheet metal screws, install
the 2 Tab Brackets in the center of each short side of
the troffer, against the troffer’s end caps (Figs. 2, 3, 4).

The Tab Brackets should be positioned up against
the opposite ends of the troffer, and centered
to within +/- 1/8” of the troffer’s centerline.

5. Bring the TKL Retrofit
Assembly up to the troffer.
Locate the safety cables at
each end of the Retrofit
Assembly (Fig. 5).

6. Using 2 of the self-drilling sheet metal screws, secure the
safety cables to the troffer body (Figures 6 and 7):

7. Fasten the service cable’s ground wire to the ground
lead of the TKL Retrofit Assembly (Figure 8).
8. Connect the input service cable’s voltage
supply wires to the TKL Retrofit Assembly.

9. Lift the TKL Retrofit Assembly up
into the troffer enclosure (Fig 9).
10.To secure the TKL Retrofit Assembly to the Tab Brackets,
engage the Retrofit Assembly’s slots into the Tab Bracket’s
tabs one side at the time, as shown in Figures 10 and 11.

Slide the Retrofit Assembly sideways, such
that one of its slots engages their tabs, as shown.

Then, pinch together the Gear Tray’s
central channel, such that the other
set of slots can engage their tabs.

11.Connect the leads which are labeled
“Emergency Battery.” This will connect
the emergency battery, causing the
LEDs to turn on (even though line
power has not yet been energized).
12.Close and secure the lens door (Fig. 12).
13.Carefully check all mechanical
and electrical connections.
14.Installation Complete. Apply power to the fixture.

FIT AND FUNCTION
Minimum dimensional requirements are above but Precision-Paragon[P2] recommends
a trial installation prior to ordering project quantities. TKL Coversion Kits are designed
to fit into most lensed-recessed prismatic troffers mounted in T-grid installation.
